SiLENt REeFS
‘Silent Reefs’ is a sculptural typeface that tells a powerful story, from death to rebirth. Inspired by a moment on the shores of Diani, Kenya, where I discovered bleached remains of coral, this project explores a visual journey of decay and regrowth. Crafted using Styrofoam and clay, each letter mimics the texture and fragility of real coral. The typeface is showcased in a carefully designed editorial, where layout and typography work together to spark conversation about our impact on nature.

ThE TYPEFaCe
The typeface begins with letters resembling broken coral, mirroring damage seen on the beach. As the alphabet progresses, the forms slowly come back to life.
Each letter is a hand sculpted form made from styrofoam and clay.
